Simple Campfire Fried Fish in Cast Iron
Ingredients:
-
2–4 fish fillets (fresh or thawed)
-
1/2 cup flour
-
Salt
-
Oil for frying (just enough to coat the pan)
Instructions:
-
Heat up your skillet over the fire or camp stove with a thin layer of oil.
-
Coat the fish in flour with a pinch of salt (you can mix in a ziplock for less mess).
-
Fry each fillet 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
-
Rest & serve with a squeeze of lemon if you have it — or just eat it hot off the pan!
Camp Tip: No flour? Just pan-fry with salt and crisp up the skin side first — still delicious!
